Native Noshing: Review of Cotton Calf Kitchen
Located in the heart of Braselton’s Historic Downtown District, as part of the former Braselton Bros. Department Store Complex, Cotton Calf Kitchen has been wowing patrons since its opening in September 2015. This sinfully Southern steakhouse brings a cosmopolitan ambiance to the suburbs with a full bar, chic dining room and engaging open kitchen as skilled chefs go about their work to the deligof onlookers. The servers give new meaning to the phrase “Southern Hospitality” as they make each guest feel right at home, extolling the many virtues of the specials of the day.
Showcasing perfectly prepared steaks and chops at the core of its menu, patrons can choose anything from the diminutive 8 oz. Petite Filet Mignon to the gargantuan 32 oz. Dry Aged Tomahawk Ribeye or 48 oz. Porterhouse for Two. The lamb chops are also highly touted for their flavor. Seeking something other than red meat? You might want to try the Baked Chilean Sea Bass, Wild Alaskan Salmon Filet in White Wine Butter Sauce, or 20 oz. and tender Garlic Butter Chicken. But let’s begin at the beginning! Not-to-be-missed appetizers include the Oysters Rockefeller, Colossal Lump Crab Cake or – if you’re not in the mood for seafood – Bourbon Glazed Thick Cut Bacon. As for soups and salads, the Lobster Bisque and Cotton Calf Kitchen Chopped Salad aim to please every time. The sides at Cotton Calf Kitchen are ideal for sharing. Choose from such delectable dishes as Lyonnaise Potatoes, Southwest Cream Corn, Grilled Asparagus, Creamed Spinach, Truffle Potato Wedges and more.
