Following a recent study by SafeWise that examined the safest cities in every state in the nation, the City of Jefferson – where Traditions of Braselton is based – made the Top Ten for Safest Cities in Georgia. Scoring a coveted spot at #5, Jefferson witnessed a steady decline in both property crime and violent crime between 2024 and 2026, with no murders reported. That decrease in crime moved Jefferson up three spots on the list, from #8 in 2025 to #5 in 2026.

To serve and protect Jefferson’s population of 16,643, and a coverage area of about 23 square miles, the Jefferson Police Department has watched over the city for more than 100 years. The agency has four patrol shifts, a Criminal Investigations Division, a K-9 unit, a Probation Officer, and a Neighborhood Watch Program. Traditions of Braselton Takes Steps to Protect its Neighbors Further

Topping the list of extraordinary measures Traditions of Braselton has implemented to secure our community is the installation of Flock Safety cameras at key points throughout the neighborhood. Monitored 24/7, the cameras are designed to record every license plate that enters and exits our community, and are connected directly to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. Cameras like these have helped reduce crime by 70% in neighborhoods where they are deployed.

Our 1140-acre master-planned community also boasts three roundabouts to help control traffic flow and speeds, and we have established solid relationships with several Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies who we pay to provide extra patrols of our neighborhood when they’re off-duty.

And – for a modern-day twist on the traditional neighborhood watch – many of our neighbors have installed motion-activated security cameras, from their doorbells to their backyards.

When at home, secure all entry points (don’t forget the deck or the sliding glass door), eliminate hiding spots around your home (cut those hedges), and follow consistent security routines. You can also pair these common-sense safety habits with tools that enhance awareness or response, such as monitored security systems or cameras.
